Forced liquidation is the only thing I can think of. At these levels, even people with only small amounts of margin are getting margin calls. Either that, or literally the world is about to end , in which case, hell, get some wine ready because I'm backpacking down to Argentina (can't afford to fly anymore).

The only other thought I have is that someone is about to scream "FIRE!" in a crowded movie theater this weekend and they are trying to block the exits. At this point, they would have to be announcing something so radical, like a new currency, the nationalization of the entire banking industry, or something so crazy that they are making a last-ditch effort to dissuade people from using PM's as an exit.

What else could it be? Silver down 55% from it's peak!
