Dent is firmly in the deflation camp, so I doubt most here would agree with his assessment. I think it is a possibility, but far from certain. There will come a point where the Fed ceases to monetize, but so far all their talk about raising rates has been nothing but propaganda. I'm very eager to see what happens when March rolls around and their QE efforts are supposedly brought to a close. Will it really happen? It's impossible to know. If the Fed decides they've got enough worthless crap on their balance sheet and calls it a day, Dent could be right. The U.S. has a ton of debt they need to cover this year, so it really makes one wonder what's going to give. So far, the Fed, Congress, and Treasury have acted predictably.
