Much is already known about Clan, and the potential there is enormous but would require re-focusing, careful planning and detailed preparation to get the biggest bang for the buck from drilling any further. Dave Webb, the previous CEO, had explored quite a large area around Clan and found gold in a number of other zones worth exploring. But financing was becoming a problem and when the new Board came in and Brian Briggs took over the focus shifted to exploiting Ormsby, which was ready to be mined and would provide the financing for future exploration in the YGP.

Personally I agreed with that strategy then, and I do now, there seemed to be no end to the constant fund raising and drilling without any strategy for production. A shift in focus now - back again to that process - would confuse the market, make permitting more difficult as other complications and questions would enter deliberations, and would make financing that much more difficult as well.
