I don't know Bo Polny or the merits of his work. But, at around minute 3.24 of this video, he showed a multi-year bull flag in gold with the flagpole starting in 2000 and ending in 2011 and with the flag starting after 2011. Just thought I'd share this, as I don't recall having seen this before.

If Mr. Polny's technical analysis is right, then a breakout out of his flag formation would suggest a roughly $1670 move. He's saying this move will happen this year. That sounds . . . very optimistic. (Of course, I don't think anyone here would complain if that were to happen and if certain knock-on effects were to happen).
