Thank you for posting such a great example of why we have a Canada Business Corporations Act and similar provincial acts.

A CEO and board have a fiduciary duty to act impartially, act in the best interests of the corporation, put the interests of the corporation (and shareholders) first, avoid conflicts of interest, and not allow their decisions to be affected by self-interest.
