Avalon Advanced Materials is a mineral development company. They’re focused on metals and minerals for use in clean energy and new technology.

Avalon specializes in niche market metals and minerals with growing demand in new technology. Indeed, the company has three advanced stage projects, all 100%-owned. These provide investors with exposure to lithium, tin and indium, as well as rare earth elements, tantalum, niobium, and zirconium.

Moreover, Avalon is currently focusing on developing its Separation Rapids Lithium Project in Kenora, ON and its East Kemptville Tin-Indium Project in Yarmouth, NS to production, while continuing to advance its Nechalacho Rare Earths asset.

Nechalacho Rare Earth Elements Property

The Nechalacho Rare Earth Elements Property, located at Thor Lake, Northwest Territories, is a rich polymetallic rare metals resource. It has potential for economic recovery of the heavy rare earth elements (REE), neodymium, praseodymium, lithium, zirconium, beryllium, niobium and tantalum.

Separation Rapids Lithium Project

Avalon’s Separation Rapids Lithium Project has the potential to produce high purity lithium compounds for two distinct markets. These include, an industrial mineral product for glass-ceramics and lithium chemicals for energy storage. It also has potential for several by-products including feldspars, silica, rubidium, cesium and tantalum.

Further, the Separation Rapids deposit is one of the largest “complex-type” lithium-cesium-tantalum pegmatite deposits in the world. It’s unusual in its enrichment in the rare, high purity lithium mineral petalite. Petalite is the preferred lithium mineral feedstock for certain specialty glass-ceramic products due to its consistently low impurity levels.

East Kemptville Tin-Indium Project

The 100% owned East Kemptville Tin-Indium Project is located approximately 45 km northeast of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia in the vicinity of the former East Kemptville Tin Mine.

The property consists of four contiguous exploration licenses and a Special License covering an aggregate of over 10,000 ac (4,000 ha) and 880 ac (356 ha) respectively and is easily accessible by a secondary highway. The Special License requires Avalon to secure permission from current landowners to access the closed East Kemptville mine site. Avalon has commenced the process toward converting this Special Licence into a mining lease, which the company anticipates completing in 2019.
