Mr. Cirella is an extremely dedicated and insightful entrepreneurial businessman. Mr. Cirella has been involved in the commodity business for over 30 years, 15 of which has been in the computer industry. Under his guidance and vision, AIG has grown into a $233,000,000 international conglomerate with offices in Canada, the United States and Europe.
His hard driving and demanding management style, coupled with his understanding and vision have enabled AIG to map out a strategic and tactical course that has positioned AIG as an industry leader in the supply of computer information technology products and brought it to the leading edge of e- commerce in both the business and consumer markets. His strategy of blending the synergies of a leading supplier of computer information technology equipment with the best Internet sales channel technology will ensure that AIG not only prospers in the new Millenium but sets the new benchmark in Internet commerce.
Mr. Cirella has strong community involvement, supporting numerous charitable organizations through the provision of his time and donations. His business and community achievements have been recently recognized with the investiture by the Governor General of Canada, of Mr. Cirella as a Serving Brother of St. John ("SBSJ").
Dr. Andrew Nellestyn
Dr. Nellestyn is Chairman & CEO of Andel Inc. He has held senior executive positions in leading software engineering and sales companies that develop robust spatial enterprise asset management solutions for telecommunications and utility clients as well as productivity tools for a variety of enterprises world-wide. He has also held a number of executive positions, including CEO, president, CFO, COO, and EVP marketing and sales at companies such as Corel Corporation, Enghouse Systems Limited, Bull HN, Atomic Energy of Canada Limited and SSI.
Dr. Nellestyn is a business leader, academic, volunteer and retired military officer. He retired from the Canadian Armed Forces in 1985, attaining rank of colonel after having served in a variety of command, staff, engineering, research and development, export sales and technology development assignments. Dr. Nellestyn serves on several boards of directors including audit committees.
Lloyd Atkinson is an independent economic and financial consultant. For nine years, until June 2003, he served as Vice Chairman, Chief Investment Officer, and Chief Strategist at Perigee Investment Counsel Inc. Prior to joining the investment management industry in 1994, Dr. Atkinson was, for 12 years, Executive Vice-President and Chief Economist at the Bank of Montreal where he also served as the head of the bank's Investment Committee of the Pension Fund Society. Previously, he spent four years working for the United States government in Washington, D.C., first as Senior Advisor at the Joint Economic Committee of the U.S. Congress, and then as Deputy Assistant Director of the U.S. Congressional Budget Office. He has taught economics and finance at a number of American universities, including the University of Michigan and the University of Maryland, and has also served as a consultant to the U.S. delegations at the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.Dr. Atkinson holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Michigan and an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and political science from the University of Windsor. He is a member of the Monetary Policy Council of the C.D. Howe Institute,and a member of the Investment Operations Committee, Alberta Revenue. As well, he is a member of the School of Business and Economics Dean's Advisory Board of Wilfrid Laurier University. He serves on the board of the Homewood Corporation.
Aly Rahemtalla is the President of Onbelay Automotive Coatings Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Onbelay Partners Limited ("OPL"). Prior to forming OPL, Mr. Rahemtalla was a consultant with the global management consulting firm of A.T. Kearney Limited providing direction on corporate strategy to Fortune 100 Corporations. Prior to that he operated his own consulting firm called ANR Solutions Inc.
John K. Bell
John K. Bell is a Cambridge-based entrepreneur and President and Chief Executive Officer of Polymer Technologies Inc., an auto parts supplier. Prior to acquiring Polymer in 1996, Mr. Bell founded Shred-Tech Ltd., which he grew to become a world leader in industrial recycling technology and equipment before selling the company in 1995.
Mr. Bell is currently the Chairman of the Board of Cambridge Memorial Hospital, and a member of the Board of Trustees of Hospitals of Ontario Pension Plan. He was the Vice Chair of Cambridge and North Dumphries Hydro from 2000-2004, the Founding Chair of Canada's Technology Triangle Accelerator Network from 1995-2000, and Chair of the Waterloo Regional Police Services Board from 1985-1990.
Peter has had a long, varied and highly successful career as educator, politician and businessman. Graduating with a Master of Education from the University of Toronto, Peter began his career as a consultant in Health Education to the Toronto Board of Education, and in 1972, was appointed professor of education at the University of Toronto. From 1967 on, he complemented his educational career with business experience gained during the summers as co-owner and operator of Northern Wilderness Outfitters in Algonquin Park. In 1976, Peter began the third, political leg of his career, running successfully for Peel Regional Council and serving till 1991 as regional councillor. In 1991, he was elected Mayor of Brampton, a position he held for three consecutive terms until 2000. Under his tenure, the City of Brampton became the 4th most active industrial commercial city in Canada.Through Peter's efforts, many new businesses, industries and organizations were attracted to Brampton, while the city itself became one of the most efficient, innovative and fastest growing municipalities within the GTA. Currently Peter runs a consulting and mediation business, serving the needs of the corporate community.
Mr. Pitts is General Manager of RAM ASD, a division of The RAM Group, one of Canada's premium technology companies. Prior to joining RAM Mr. Pitts served as Executive Vice President of BSM Technologies and President of its subsidiary Encore Asset Services Inc.
Mr. Pitts is a successful entrepreneur who brings with him over 34 years in the high technology sector holding senior management, sales and marketing positions with IBM Canada Ltd., Dataproducts, and Memorex. He has served as a consultant to Bell Canada, SHL Systemhouse, NEC Canada, and Nulogix.
Frank Maida, executive vice-president and co-owner of the Georgian Corporation is a successful businessman who brings over 30 years experience developing and constructing communities tailored to residential and business needs.
Under his leadership, the Georgian Corporation has repeatedly received awards for the highest service excellence in its sector and is recognized as an industry leader.
Robert G. MacFarlane
Robert MacFarlane is a senior partner and founding member of Captiva Finance. Prior to founding Captiva Finance Mr. MacFarlane was Executive Vice President, Newcourt Credit Group. He was responsible for negotiating several vendor finance programs whereby Newcourt provided the leasing arm for high technology vendors - the most notable being Dell Financial Services (DFS), which is a separate company, owned jointly by Dell and Newcourt (Acquired by CIT/Tyco ).
Mr. MacFarlane is a professional engineer and a graduate of McMaster University where he earned an Engineering Management Degree (a combined Civil Engineering and Commerce degree). He also obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, specializing in finance, from the University of Toronto.
