** U.S. airlines will selectively add entertainment options. But instead of tearing up the planes to install seat-back TV monitors like JetBlue, Delta Song and Frontier officer, they will take a cue from American that is testing, on its MD-80 fleet, a portable entertainment device that holds early release movies, TV programs, digital newspapers, audio books, music, music videos, games like solitaire and golf. It rents for $10 to $12 on your credit card and is gratis for first-class customers. American says it should roll out the device starting in the fall.
