e.DIGITAL FILES PATENT INFRINGEMENT LAWSUITS AGAINST AT&T, VERIZON, US CELLULAR, PANTECH, MITAC, AND OTHERS

Filings Follow Successful Licensing of Prior Patent Enforcement Actions

(SAN DIEGO, CA, – January 7, 2013) – e.Digital Corporation (OTCQB: EDIG), a long standing source of innovation and future-defining patented technologies, announced today that it has filed two new patent infringement lawsuits in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California.

Handal & Associates, on behalf of the Company, has recently filed two separate lawsuits against entities that e.Digital believes infringe the Company’s U.S. patents covering the use of flash memory technologies. The patents in question are a part of e.Digital’s Flash-R™ patent portfolio. The recent filings bring the number of cases currently on file against defendants alleged to infringe the Company’s patents to a total of fifteen.

The recent filings are against Pantech Wireless, Inc. aka Pantech North America, Pantech Co. Ltd., AT&T, Inc., Verizon Communications, Inc., United States Cellular Corporation, MiTAC Digital Corporation, and MiTAC International Corp., all of whom the Company believes make or sell infringing products. Along with MiTAC, e.Digital has named several of their distributors and retailers who are believed to carry and sell infringing products. These distributors and retailers include TD Associates, LLC aka eCommerce Outdoors dba TigerGPS.com, LLC; Newegg, Inc.; Backcountry.com, Inc. dba Backcountrycorp.com; Best Buy Co., Inc.; Best Buy Stores, L.P.; Best Buy.Com LLC; J&R Electronics, Inc.; Sears Holdings Corporation; Sears, Roebuck and Co.; and Buy.com, Inc.
