Just curious and makes me wonder if Nest was a money making business, and how much they were making? Did Google pay for the perceived value from sales ( based on PE) or did Google pay that much money for the potential and way the parts of Nest fit into Google's overall plan/strategy??? I would think it was for the latter (mostly). I mean how much was Nest capable of making selling thermosates? At 3.2 billion how much was that times earnings? If we applied that formula to EDIG what might be a comparable selling price? Was Nest a publicly traded company with outstanding shares? If so value per share?
