CORRECTION - "Note that while gasoline prices seem to be at new lows today, the price of oil has actually been rising and is well off it's recent lows - more mixed signals."

That is not quite correct. POI has been going down, while the stock prices of producers has been going up from recent lows. I think the current lower prices for gasoline result from delivery contracts arranged at lower crude prices. Now that crude prices are headed up, the lower gasoline prices we are seeing today should not last much longer.
