I think it was put out as supporting the current positive perceptions, without having lab results yet at hand.  if that is the case, I think it a good move, the alternative being a period of silence that may need to go on longer than anyone would like.

IOW, looks like a decent effort to support the cause with the information available, I'm not going to Nit-pick, too easy from the sidelines.

I just don't find negativity as being justified at this point in time.
