JIMMY DEAN, great (not good) stuff. You don't just sell sausage but are just the kinda guy we need to hear from. You mentioned that you are a "quantity surveyor"-- about which most people would immediately picture you with your level and transit standing on a pile of dirt---in our case-- sand. I am familiar with your profession and it's a great (not good) deal more than that. In fact you may never have used a level and transit as far as I know. Would you be so kind to enlighten all of us on this message board, as to what a quantity surveyor's responsibilities are relating to a construction project.
