FYI, ATCO awarded camp build for Teck Chile

SANTIAGO, CHILE--(Marketwire - Nov. 28, 2011) - Tecno Fast ATCO S.A. has won a contract to build a unique workforce housing camp, combining accommodation with an office complex, for Phase 2 of Teck's Quebrada Blanca operation in a remote mining region of northern Chile.

The 1,700-person multi-story, "hotel-style" camp will feature large bedrooms with private bathrooms, recreation and fitness facilities, including a gym and judo/karate room, a medical clinic, music room and internet café. The camp will also include a modern office building and on-site dining facilities.

"Our experience providing comfortable camps with multiple amenities in remote locations was a key factor in winning this project," said Harry Wilmot, President and Chief Operating Officer, ATCO Structures & Logistics. "The provision of a work camp in such an isolated environment bolsters our reputation for providing mining camps anywhere in the world."

Teck's Quebrada Blanca copper mine is located 1,500 km north of Santiago in the Andes mountain range, 4,400 metres above sea level. The remote camp has been designed to provide a comfortable environment for workers living in these isolated and rugged conditions. Phase 2 of Teck's Quebrada Blanca mine is a development project to increase production and extend the facility's life by more than 30 years. The project is expected to include the construction of a new concentrating plant, a tailings facility and new pumping and piping installations for transporting copper concentrate to the loading port.
