LG Chem plant in Michigan (a copy/paste of their Korean plant) is not and will not shut down, they were looking to hire 40 new high-tech employees in September. They just have low activity at present due to much lower than expected sales of GM Volt.

They recently "has successfully delivered and commissioned the largest battery system installed in North America, a 32 MWh battery energy storage system in Tehachapi, CA." using same battery as automotive.

Still bet and hope Electrovaya will buy ex-A123 coating unit in Romulus, which make sense because new A123 owner Wanxiang operates world class coating unit in China and Michigan will most probably be supportive (grants) to avoid closure of this plant. A123 had burned cash like hell, so "State-of-the-art modular facility built recently with hundreds of millions of dollars invested" mention in EFL PR make sense.

a few hundred millions spending make sense.

Hope Electrovaya will not take months to provide more info, no deadline mention in PR :-(
