...With the increasing concentration of battery-cell production at several large specialist companies, and as a result of extreme price competition between major manufacturers, battery cells have now become an inexpensive mass product. Given this situation, it no longer makes any economic sense for us to manufacture battery cells for specific use in automotive applications. We have therefore decided to discontinue production of cells at Li-Tec at the end of 2015. Nevertheless, the development of complete battery systems still requires the type of extremely specific expertise that we have accumulated over the past few years and will to continue to utilize in the future. As a result, Deutsche ACCUmotive will significantly expand its lithium-ion battery production capacity in Kamenz. We will invest approxi-mately €100 million in this expansion over the next few years.

ı dont know if the date could change in the event of a sale. It seems early a statement for Electrovaya to announce it in nov 2014 if it could only close in 2016.

On a side note. Would it be possible for Electrovaya to make battery packs for other vehicles? Have one for the leaf or tesla where custumers could buy a replacement from them or buy a car from the manufacturer without a battery pack to purchase one from Electrovaya? If id buy an energizer bunny i wouldnt necessarely put energizer batteries in it. Seems like it would be an interesting side by side comparison and possibly good advertisement. Is that crazy thinking?
