>I get the impression that Falcon isn't too happy about the news stories that the Mako Trough project is finished.

I've got the feeling that Dr.Szabo is extremely unhappy.

Suddenly the ground becomes scalding hot under Csongrad County’s gas field.

Makó - The TXM Kft. is organizing an information conference on location here next week, to persuade the Hungarian press about the truth. According to the company it is worthwhile to continue the work in the Makó trough. To TXM, the latest contrary news is more disturbing than those of the ancient tribal-Hungarian groups staking claim to the underground treasures in the Makó trough.

The article in the HVG "did not come too close” however the TXM Kft. may go to court about the article that appeared in the Népszabadság, said György Szabó. After ExxonMobil completed its operations at the Földeák-1 well, the Falcon Hungarian subsidiary, TXM Kft. pauses the exploration in the gas field because of poor results, however half of Hungarian press entered into an analyzing guessing game whether: is this the end of the "Makó gas dream" or not?

HVG wrote that the TXM, ExxonMobil and MOL joint consortium worked well together for two years, but in the new situation TXM finds itself alone. Then the Népszabadság gave voice to Szolnok Mining Bureau, forecasting that if TXM does not start production in the next 2 years, then the area will be re-tendered for concession, but by then maybe no one be interested in the Makó trough.

Then MOL stated: someday it will be worthwhile to extract the gas found in the Makó through. However TXM says it is not someday, the time is now. Whether which of these statements are real and how much is serving the business interests of those that made the statement, it’s too difficult to determine. One thing is sure, the echoes of the failure at the Földeák-1 well is more disturbing for TXM than the protest two years ago, in which a shaman symbolically reposes the gas resource that is hidden in the depths of the earth. That is so because the stock market affects the movement of the capital that is necessary for financing the research, the stock market directly profiting from fear and emotions, and those two are influenced by the constant pondering of the press.

One thing is sure: the other day we’ve visited the previously most promising spot outside of Óföldeák, workers were picking up and transporting the concrete elements from the site, and only the closed valve remained. The Székkutas site is also closed reported mayor Sándor Varga. Mindszent colleague Zsótér Stephen said the well at the Mias road also closed, there is no movement. They had hopes for jobs in the research, then later for production.

However the mayor of Magyarcsanád Jánosné Farkas said, she is more hopeful: because TXM is continuing work at the Magyarcsanád-1 well, and is preparing for test-production. György Szabó will be here next week to provide information on results thus far, and would like to respond to all questions and opinions.

The failure of this exploration, would be too embarrassing, because a consortium of three companies have spent nearly half a billion dollars on this research.
