Message: Noront Resources GSI Surface Application - Leading the way with technology

Hi All,

It looks like Noront has had an software application named after them. It is great to see that they are using the latest technologies within their operations. Check out the case study below ...

"Interactive Data Delivery for Investors and Geologists

Each year, Noront gathers a vast number of core samples and assay data that together tell a story. This volume of collected information is such that it requires a significant amount of resources to examine. Noront was seeking a tool suitable for presenting their data to investors in an easily comprehensible form that could also provide geologists with a platform for collaboration.

Working with Noront’s geologists, Infusion developers created a customized version of Infusion’s Falcon Eye for Microsoft Surface entitled Noront GSI. Using Surface’s unique multi-touch interface, Falcon Eye visualizes Noront's data, maps, and analysis from mining operations. This gives investors the ability to mine through visual and scientific data and turn it into a concise message that provides insight into Noront’s ongoing geological research. Data can be shown to investors in an informal and interactive way, with the capability of overlaying images on top of one another.

Noront GSI uses Bing Maps to display pins that point to individual drill holes. Once a drill hole has been selected, users can navigate up and down a drill hole to see the data recorded at each meter. Sample boxes contained within the drill holes allow geologists to see both wet and dry photos of the core samples and provide them with assay data. Photos can be zoomed in and expanded, permitting users to see deeper into the data. When individually tagged Core samples are placed on the Surface, the map immediately navigates to the drill hole associated with the sample and presents assay data."

M1.
