The only reason I think of to stay long in a stock you don't believe in is to get a tax write-off. If this is your goal then you are acting rationally, but you could spare us the rants.

Otherwise, my instinct tells me that if this deal fails the stock is not likely to go higher than it's current price. Do you believe otherwise?
