The annoying thing that is the central thread re the US objection to the pipeline is that the environmentalists keep referring to the Canadian or Tar Sands oil as "dirty oil" Some environmentalists in effect want to build a house without a toilet!

The truth is that the refined oil ready for the US pipeline is 30o to 32o API, low sulphur (0.1 - 0.2%), and thus it is clean oil when it enters the Canadian pipeline. The original oil from the tar sands has a low API (American Petroleum Institute version of density) and you can't pump sludge like that. Thus the dirty part is left in Canada.

Why this is important to us is that the cost of oil is already being paid in gold money, and one advantage of our company is that gold is an automatic true hedge to the price of oil and also to the related inflationary increases in food and other commodities. Thus the stock markets in general are doing well, but as the pressure for increased interest rates build, they will fall out of proportion to the true value of gold (& silver) Even tiny gold companies will become very valuable.
