Orvana Minerals Profile

Orvana Minerals Corp. is a mining company with an active gold mine, the Don Mario, in eastern Bolivia. The company is aggressively seeking other mining opportunities throughout the Americas. The Company’s long-term goal is to become a low cost, multi-mine producer in South America.

The Don Mario property had estimated proven and probable reserves of 1.5 million tonnes grading 8.74 grams of gold per treated tonne in the Lower Mineralized Zone. Through fiscal 2007, 86,381 ounces of gold were produced. The discovery of the proximal Las Tojas deposit has extended Don Mario’s mine life by nearly another year. Exploration throughout the surrounding claims continues. Furthermore, the Company is finalizing a feasibility study related to the open-pit mining of the polymetallic Upper Mineralized Zone at Don Mario.

Orvana’s head office is in Toronto, Ontario and the Company’s stock has been listed since 1992 on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the trading symbol ORV. On this website, the terms “Orvana Minerals”, “Orvana” and “the Company” refer collectively to Orvana Minerals Corp. and its subsidiaries.

Business Strategy
The Company’s long-term goal is to be a low cost, long-life, multi-mine gold and base-metal producer in the Americas.

Orvana’s business plan is to use its cash resources and mining expertise to achieve additional growth and geographic diversification throughout the Americas. Management aims to achieve these goals through acquisition of producing mines as well as advanced-stage properties that could potentially be brought into production within three to five years. Management also considers exploration projects as an additional way to achieve geographic diversification.

In addition to the near-completed feasibility study relating to the UMZ project, the Company is also undertaking exploration activities consisting of ground geophysics, trenching and drilling on other targets located in the ten concessions contiguous to the concession on which the Don Mario Mine is located. Gold was discovered in the Las Tojas prospect, located less than one (1) kilometer from the Don Mario infrastructure. In fiscal 2008, the Company focused its exploration efforts in the Oscar concession. The La Aventura exploration program is on hold pending receipt of a required permit since part of La Aventura concession falls within an area known as “Area Natural de Manejo Integrado San Matias”, a Controlled Area of Environmental Management.

Orvana does not currently hedge its gold production.
