Please do not take this as what I think is going on with CUU.

FWIW, I bought Copper Canyon Resources around the time of my first CUU investment. (2006-7) I was a Novagold shareholder and was looking for explorers around Galore Creek. Bought some Copper Canyon in 2006 around 0.40 and it dropped to around 0.15 by the end of 2009.

Then in mid 2010, CPY started a steady climb over a couple of months from 0.15 to around 0.50. (plus or minus, it was a while ago) No news at all for the "unexplained" rise. But in December 2010, NG ended up making unsolicited offer for CPY at 0.60 in December 2010. The final agreed-to deal was $1.05 a share in March 2011.

The lesson I took away is that there is often information out there that I just don't have access to.

I don't think the recent CUU rise is related to a buyout, but I think there is something going on beyond simple copper price speculation. JMO.
