I'm sure it was a difficult decision to sell the separator to the competition but if this is as good as we think it is the demand is massive. They estimate approximately 3 billion sq./m demand globally for separators at about $1.48 per sq/m. They will still be competitive with their own battery and be able to compete for auto, grid storage, industrial, etc. As far as paying a premium for their battery I don't think that is the case, they state they are the lowest cost producer in the world. It is going to be interesting to see what the demand is for the separion but it sure looks like they are expecting a large demand. The way I took his statements in the CC regarding higher end markets was that initially they will focus on the markets with the higher profit margin while their manufacturing capacity was limited so they could realize more profit until they could expand to include other markets. Just my opinion.
