Message: Re: Chinese more likely to build rail link to Ring of Fire

Simply put:

The chinese should build this N/S railway. They are no doubt much better at it then we are, and will not waste their time worrying about our political and social agendas. Canada and the First Nations are the hindrance here, and will only create excessive delays. The Chinese understand very well the breadth of their ROF investment, because for them it is a business transaction, not about unity, culture, and trying to right past wrongs. Their approach here is strictly business, nothing more. Ontario and Canada on the other hand are bound by the numerous strings that are attached to every aspect of our progress, whether it be with the ROF, or with the people of the First Nations. China is not. To them, their view is only that everyone they meet is a potential partner in business, provided the right agreement can be signed upon.

If the railroad is left for Canada to build then we will not see it happen for many years to come; IMO. We, as a nation, have enough on our plate caring for the needs of our own people, whether they be First Nations or not. The last thing I want to see is our levels government, who have this amazing ability to procrastinate and waste money, take on something as complex as this N/S railroad. This is best left to the Chinese. Let us not worry about this, but simply accept the fact that this probably won't be done by our government. Something I think we all deep down inside are glad they are not doing, because waiting another 5 - 10 years is not what we want to see happening.

TM.
