Between the Oil Sands, Mexican deep off shore, Brazil deep off shore and the Bakken Field in the US, we over the long haul, just might have it covered. The Bakken which is mostly in the US is getting currently enormous attention and has resources in the hundreds of billions of barrels. Promising technology of horizontal drilling and fracturing as you go, has been developed and big players are starting to pour in. The Bakken extends into southern Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Main area of the Bakken is in N.Dakota, S Dakota, and Montana. A subsidiary of Petrobank is producing some oil out of the Saskatchewan portion of the Bakken Field. In the US, big players include EOG, Marathon, Headington Oil, Whiting O&G, Murex Petroleum (privately owned), American O&G, EnerPlus (Canadian Co.), and others. If technical issues can be truly resolved, The Bakken Field is enormous.
