Message: One more environmental bit for CUU

Good catch RabidTiger... Yes, a special permit is required to fill in Skeeter Lake - if it is deemed Navigable Water under the Navigable Waters Protection Act. The 'permit' amounts to an federal Order In Council to exempt CUU from dumping into a water body greater than 20 fathoms deep.

I know that CUU was seriously looking at this issue in 2008 so they should have a good handle on it. The current majority Conservative (mining friendly) federal government is a good situation to have regarding this issue as well as the lack of potential or current navigation on the lake.

I think the formal OIC process would start when the EA certificate is issued.
