AGORACOM NEWS FLASH

Dear Agoracom Family,

I want to thank all of you for your patience with us over the past 48 hours and apologize for what was admittedly a botched launch of our new site.

As you can see, we have reverted back to the previous version of the site while we address multiple forum functionality flaws that inexplicably made their way into the launch.

To this end:

1.We have identified 8 fundamental but easily fixable flaws that will be corrected in the coming week, so that you can continue to use the forums exactly as you've been accustomed to.

2.Additionally we will also be implementing a couple of design improvements to "tighten up" the look and feel of the forums.

Sincerely,

George et al

More on MacKaskill:

"Stockhouse Publishing Ltd. has won an interim injunction in the Supreme Court of British Columbia restraining Daryl MacAskill, also known as "stoxxman," from posting on its website. The injunction was handed down on Wednesday, April 18, by Justice Gregory Bowden, after Stockhouse argued that Mr. MacAskill was creating thousands of posts, many with "ugly and inflammatory language." The victory is a partial one, as the judge declined to permanently bar Mr. MacAskill from the site. The judge instead entered a restraining order that keeps Mr. MacAskill from using Stockhouse until the case can be scheduled for a full hearing.

The decision followed a one-hour argument by Stockhouse lawyer Ludmila Herbst, who contended that the content of many posts by Mr. MacAskill violated Stockhouse's terms of use. She presented 16 pages containing examples of his posts, which included: a photo that appeared to be an ad for penis enlargement; an image of a book cover titled "Best of Bondage Erotica," which referred to a user who "likes handcuffs"; a cartoon image of a donkey licking a naked man's buttocks; and a picture of a very obese woman wearing very little."
