AGORACOM NEWS FLASH

Dear Agoracom Family,

I want to thank all of you for your patience with us over the past 48 hours and apologize for what was admittedly a botched launch of our new site.

As you can see, we have reverted back to the previous version of the site while we address multiple forum functionality flaws that inexplicably made their way into the launch.

To this end:

1.We have identified 8 fundamental but easily fixable flaws that will be corrected in the coming week, so that you can continue to use the forums exactly as you've been accustomed to.

2.Additionally we will also be implementing a couple of design improvements to "tighten up" the look and feel of the forums.

Sincerely,

George et al

Message: Saudi's want to invest in minerals

I suspect that the Saudi's will not be approved by the Government of Canada to acquire anything significant in Canada, much less our natural resources.

The Schaft Creek Mining District is very significant.  We now know that Schaft Creek is on the Provincial and Federal Govt's recent 'inventory lists' of natural resource projects to be oversought and protected from unfettered foreign acquisitions.

Assuming Newmont wants in on SC (a very safe assumption imo), I have to wonder whether they are walking on eggshells lately about how to best navigate the resource protectionism wave and how to secure Govt approval for an investment from a US company in a Canadian natural resource.

BTW, no that I think this would make a huge difference to our fate.  If Teck wants to develop the Schaft CReek Mining District they would certainly be able to come up with the funds for a bigger stakeholding, notwithstanding the added risk they would have to accept with a bigger stake.

I'm curious about what others think about whether Newmont would be blocked.
