Indeed, Las Cristinas lies within the Guayana Region. I could not get your map link to work to show the outline of the four coordinates. Regions typically have borders of mountains, rivers, oceans, forests, etc. It would seem a Region, with terrain such as exists in Venezuela, would likely not be outlined with four straight sides.

CVG held a conference in 2003 with the announcement that can be viewed on the link :

The second paragraph states that the Guayana region represents 52 percent of Venezuela's Territory.
