Vice President of CVG released detained for protesting mining in
Bolivar


Ciudad Bolivar, Nov 18. ABN .- After intervention by the authorities
of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Fanbad) in Bolivar State,
was released late on Tuesday the executive vice president of the
Venezuelan Guayana Corporation (CVG), Alfredo Arcila, who had been held at the offices of the agency in Ciudad Bolivar from noon on Monday by artisanal miners.

Arcila had been detained along with five other officials from the
CVG, while trying to talk with a group of miners from a neighboring
town Raúl Leoni, who, in a violent manner, requiring representatives of the Ministry of People's Power for Basic Industry and Mining ( Mibam) to cancel a bond agreed during the process of eviction of illegal miners from the Caura River Basin and its conversion work on other activities not harm the environment.
