Venezuela says it will honor international payments for 17 billion dollars

The ruling says that there is a "campaign of discredit" by the "right" before international organizations to affect Venezuela.

Venezuelan Minister of Finance, Industry and Commerce, Ramon Lobo , said that his country is preparing to honor international commitments for 17 billion dollars for this month of April.

"Venezuela will fulfill this year with the payment of its international commitments, despite the campaign of discrediting the right (...) This year we must cancel about 17 billion dollars , both the central government and PDVSA, we are one Republic, "the minister wrote in his Twitter account.

The head of the Venezuelan Ministry of Finance argued that Venezuela is a victim of an alleged disruption by opposition sectors, which seeks to affect the country before international bodies.

"If we did it in 2016, a difficult year, we will achieve this, despite the right campaign in financial institutions," he added.

Lobo considered that this 2017 will be a year of economic growth for the nation. "Payments will be made more easily than in 2016, marked by the economic war ," he said.

Finally, the minister said he does not deny that there are difficulties, but, in his opinion, the government is confronting them. "We are generating different alternatives to overcome them," he concluded.
