I'll do the math for you.

Say at 12% you get $12,000.  Gowling is successful and gets 50% which gives you $50,000.

That means Gowling made you $38,000. But you have to give Gowling 9% of that for services rendered,

Which is  $3,420. Subtract and you receive $46,580.  Instead of $12,000.

If I made a mistake I'll correct myself in the morning.
