Very, very positive news, no question. Couple things though about todays release:
- No mention of ongoing contract worth $30M/year. Daimler announced switched to LG for Smart EV battery packs last month, so it may be that contract is up in smoke;
- No mention of the cost of the acquisition or the financing terms. Pretty major omission;
Evonik (and Daimler) are both reputable companies, but both have washed themselves of this venture and have left it in the hands of a small Canadian company from Mississauga that has no big contracts or recurring revenues.
I am rooting for them, and it is indeed a big splash. Hopefully they know how to swim.
