Well they are not really hiding what they are doing, they are putting in small sell/buy orders and when they get filled they put in an other one (and thus go to the back of the line).

If you wnated to do it you could as well, just not have it done automatically. Nothing stoping you from puting in an order, and then once it gets filled, placing an other one with the same price.
