Message: From James Turk on possible short squeeze

"Like the squeeze of 1869, the market now is far too complacent about both gold and the fiat currency of our day, the Federal Reserve dollar (which differs from a Greenback dollar in name only)."

I realize that i'm just pickin' nits here, however, I believe there was one major difference between Lincoln's greenbacks and present day FRNs. The greenbacks were at least issued by the government, without the private bank's compound interest thrown in.

It was similar in Canada, when our publicly owned central bank created a larger percentage of our currency without the usurous compound interest from 1938 until about 1974.
