04:49 PM EDT, 07/27/2017 (MT Newswires) -- Great Panther Silver (GPR.TO) said Thursday it believes that it has fulfilled the outstanding condition required by Mexican environmental permitting agency SEMARNAT for the Phase II Tailings Storage Facility at its Topia mine.

The company has resubmitted the permit application, with a response expected within 60 business days. While waiting for a response, Great Panther will continue normal operations at Topia using the existing Phase I Tailings Storage Facility. Great Panther believes that there will no interruption to operations while obtaining the permit for the new facility, but advised that the deposition of dry tailing on the Phase I Tailings Storage Facility could not continue indefinitely.

Great Panther's shares opened at an intra-day high of $1.62, but declined over the day to close at $1.57, compared to the previous close of $1.58.
