These types of oil plays are a bit like playing at a casino aren't they? I agree with you that this one seems to be worth a gamble. The prize could be very large compared to the down side...especially if you have stops in place.

The problem with stops on these venture plays is that there is usually a halt on the stock before a big NR so if the news is bad, the SP gaps down when trading resumes and the stop doesn't help.

I've had a couple of occasions where I had stops in and stocks gapped down when trading resumed and my stock got sold at the bottom. Then the price rebounded a bit a few minutes later and I would have been better off (not well off mind you) but better off if I had waited for the bounce off the bottom before I sold.

But, hey, you pays your money and you takes your chances as they say. Let's hope they hit what they are looking for and the gap is UP.
