When considering how cool dividends would be, look at the opportunity cost involved.  Imagine if no dividends had been paid out but invested.  This plays into my previously posted scenario of having 100 million plus in investments and using the income from said investments as seed money to purchase new companies.  We become a conglomerate of little companies.  A few make it big.  We all get rewarded mightily.  We need all the money we have right now to build our future.  Dividends is short term mentality imo.
