One possibility for their approach may be that PTI would be quite happy to sell their process to competing Fabs if there is to be no exclusivity clause, which could be a very expensive option for any fab,. So by keeping the various fab spys guesing it may be a means of bolstering interest from competing fabs. There's Nothing more motivating than seeing a potential competitor staeling a march on you.

Maybe PC will get a couple of calls he was hoping to have had some time ago.
