Guys, Sorry if this link was already posted but I haven't seen it till now. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2013/07/10/ajit_manocha_worries_about_the_furture_of_chip_manufacturing/ a paragraph near the end states "GlobalFoundries, Manocha said, is also looking at more-esoteric technologies such as carbon nanowires and a variety of "III-V"* semiconductor materials – so named because they are compounds of group III elements such as aluminum, gallium, and indium with group V elements such as nitrogen, phosphorus, arsenic, and antimony, with one promising combo being gallium arsenide, or GaAs". Peaks my curiosity!
