Yep, I agree.  I guess you can undo a recharactorization if your stock ends up going backward.  BTW, I should have acknowledeged your previous post (sorry about that).  Lots of variables but lots of optimization possibilities one might not have considered.  I surley hadn't and was surprised when I learned I could pile on to my Roth IRA (pleaseantly surprised).  Disclaimer= check with your expert for your particular situation.  Many variables, as each of us said, (trying not to repeat myself) I think we both said check with your expert as well.  (might be worth checking into) Cheers  BT
