Lelo, I believe you are missing the salient points made by Baba and Lumenge.  This was a business negotiation, settled to the satisfaction of both parties.  From the YE report:

"the Company determined, and the Buyer accepted, that it was in the Company’s best interest to accept the partial payments as final payment on the Company’s receivable and to restructure its relationship with DenseLight to better accommodate the Company’s current supply needs.”

So, the company gets a better supply arrangement in lieu of the $2.5M. IMO, the value associated with the improved deal will be worth at least $2.5M, but probably much more in the longer term. Of course, the assumption here is the company gets a volume product to market.
