Message: 8 optical engine products for OFC

It is interesting to note that the last product roadmap provided in Oct 22 (AGM) had only 7 products listed.

Guys, the company is obviously making huge progress in designing optical engines to meet industry needs.  I have always found that when investing it is not just about finding a winner that will capture market share with a competitive cost advantage and the ability for high throughput production. It is also important to understand the company's share structure to identify the opportunity to slowly accumulate without driving the share price up. You can clearly see this with how Morgan Stanley increases their buying as the share price drops and reduces their buying as the share price rises. It is not hard to recognize the pressure the stock is under and take advantage of that pressure.

In the meantime it is important to recognize the rapid progress that POET is making on really limited funding so far and focus on that as opposed to being frustrated with the share price. We know why the share price sucks right now.

Someone said that the only thing that will move the share price higher is sales projections. That is not true. If for example you look at resource companies exploring for that next big deposit. There is an immediate market response when they make a discovery.  It takes years to assess the value of a discovery but the value of the company will skyrocket on indications of the potential that the deposit is economic. Major companies begin to circle and investors begin to speculate that the junior will become a takeout target driving the share price higher. Sometimes it works out but often it does not and it takes many years to delineate a deposit and develop a mine. But the risk reward is massive and it plays out very early during the discovery phase.

So in our case POET has yet to receive the attention it deserves but that could change in a heartbeat. Any announcement of a North American Tier 1 like CISCO or Google or any number of these giants engaging with POET would have an immediate impact on investor interest.

POET has an amazing technology that is very quick to develop into badly needed products and that is clearly being demonstrated and will be on display at OFC.
