For datatom solutions, the optical engines will still be sold to module makers, but POET wants to make modules to shorten the time to customer. If I understand correctly, everything is already incorporated in POETs engines, except the DSP, which is where POET is working on, to eliminate the DSP. POET then could start making modules with the new JV partner. For AI and datacom, the DSP is already eliminated because it is crucial for high end solutions. It looks like there is no large funding needed to make the shift, however Liza is talking about investors who are willing to fund large sums (>50M). So what budget $$$ do we still need to make the shift to module making if everyhting is already done by designing the engine?
