Seriously though. I'm sure he has at least that or credit line? After all this is his baby.  Aside from time and the security of his former job. Go all in! At the very least help comfort those who have also taken a huge monetary risk to support his endeavor. 

If this this goes belly up he will not have any difficulty finding a new high paying job.

Some of us will be set back big time in this venture. Would take me years to recoupe this financial debacle
