I agree.. Suresh knows quite well how shareholders are feeling about change. Polls that are timed to maximize suggestive results are replied to by typically disgruntled or manipulative shareholders and may not represent the majority who though are frustrated see thru it and may not participate. 
If it were to be headed by a shareholder,  it would have to be from someone who has garnered respect from management and as Rainer suggested uses proven survey platforms ( survey monkey etc..).. it would likely carry more weight. 

Finally I find the timing of this interesting following Suresh optimistic interview.
