This week is #OFC2024, all about Optical Fiber Communications. I spent some time with Mark Wade, CEO of Ayar Labs, about their integrated photonics demo, as well as roadmaps, lasers, and chiplets. It all comes down to how data of the future is going to be transferred: chip-to-chip, or even chip-to-memory, at higher speeds with lower power.
