Solar is not a complete answer.  But..

#1, it's output is strongest when the world (not Canada's neccesarily) consumption is greatest, miday.  Brownouts happen due to AC and refrigeration, not furnaces.

#2.  it is a rapidly expanding field, and most stocks in the sector are jumping.  I would invest in biofuel (which I dont think is much of an answer in it's current form) if it promised to make me money.  Solar has done very well for me in 07, I think it will do well for me in 08.

#3) Solar can be easily set up in remote places for power generation as either a supplement, or bare bones need.  I think of the third world and the arctic.  (sad they come in the same thought...)
