Apabetalone didn't show an appreciable effect in BETonMACE on HbA1C, glucose, insulin, BMI, etc. So my initial thought is that the associations of LDL-C with T2D and glucose homeostasis don't have much relevance to the MACE data of BETonMACE, in which all patients were diabetics. But I will think about this some more.
