I see your point. Think of three stages: before infection; right after infection; late in the course of infection.
Apabetalone may be good in the pre-infection stage, as it reduces ACE2. It may be bad in the very early phase as it reduces the ability to eliminate the virus. It may be good in the last phase, when a potential cytokine storm is on.
